No browser player can reliably support every format. Playback depends on codecs built into the browser and operating system. MP3, WAV, AAC, M4A, MP4 and WebM are usually the safest choices. FLAC, MKV, Dolby, DTS and other formats may vary by browser and device.

Sometimes, but it is not guaranteed. Real multichannel output depends on the browser, operating system, HDMI or audio interface, driver settings and the connected speaker system. When enough physical channels are not available, the player can use headphone spatial stereo instead.

Yes. Use Choose Folder to build a local playlist from supported audio and video files. Folder selection works best in Chromium-based browsers such as Chrome and Edge.
Remote media can require CORS permission before Web Audio can process it. A stream may play normally in the video or audio element but still block 5.1, 7.1 or 9.1 DSP if the remote server does not allow cross-origin access.
No. Local file and folder playback is handled in the browser. The selected local files are not uploaded to Upmixify for normal playback.
Yes. Open the Settings icon in the player. Video controls include Auto, 16:9, 4:3, 21:9 and 1:1 aspect ratios, Fit, Crop or Fill, Stretch, Zoom, Brightness, Contrast, Saturation and a browser-safe Sharpness approximation.
